I painted this little fairy one day, but i wanted her to only have one wing. It looks kinda wierd that way because it looks like her other wing is behind that one, but then her body would have to be turned the other way for that to be true. Anyway, i did this because my art teacher "lost" (i think she may have stolen it) a picture that i painted. It was of a fish.... it was a way better painting than this one, i really miss it. I'm angry at whoever stole it or put it in some weird spot. I was very attached to that fish, you know. I even named her Jamie. My art teacher was a good teacher, and she was nice and everything, but she never gave back any of my art. Oh well....
I really like this. The fairy has bright colors, but the grey background really makes it stand out and give you this feeling of loss. Which I think you might have gone in this picture.
Again, not to be critical, just trying to help:
The nose is fine, it's just the forwhead that bothers me a bit. If you look in the mirror and turn to the side, you'll see that right after the nose there's a curve, not a big curve but a noticeable curve. You might want to take a picture of a side view of a person to help. Believe me, drawing a person to the side is very hard.
Another thing, the legs look very skinny, a little too skinny. Don't be afraid to make her have some fat. And also, her knees are too low. Sometimes what you have to do it draw the skirt see through so that you can get the legs right, if not you'll put the legs too low.
Other than that, I love this picture, it's very good.
Thank you! The picture does give you a feeling a loss. And thank you so much for the critisism, it helps me a lot!!!!! I did do the skirt see though first, as you suggested, but i see now that her knees are still too low. Oops! hehe. And i will try to give her legs some good old fat next time!
